Heather Riebel was born in Craig Colorado and moved “home” to Boerne when she was six months old. She grew up as a fourth generation Boerne native and graduated from Boerne High School in 1998. She attended Texas Lutheran University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Molecular Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. During high school and her last two years of college, Dr. Riebel also played for the girls’ golf teams. Following graduation from TLU, Dr. Riebel received her Medical Doctorate degree from University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She went on to her three year Pediatric Residency in 2006 at UTMB in Austin, with her intern year at Brackenridge Hospital and then her last two years at Dell Children’s Hospital after it opened in 2007.

Dr. Riebel fulfilled her passion to experience a traditional general pediatric practice in a rural setting in Cody Wyoming just outside of Yellowstone for three years before returning to fellowship. She completed her three year Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Dr. Riebel married her true love, Matthew Riebel, during her third year of medical school and they have two amazing sons, Evan and Landon. Dr. Riebel enjoys spending time with her family, watching her boys play soccer, basketball, and football, golfing, and traveling.
